Apple Pay According to Apple’s website, “Apple Pay is safer than using a plastic credit, debit, or prepaid card. Every transaction on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac requires you to authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode. Your Apple Watch is protected by the passcode that only you know, and your passcode is required every time you put on your Apple Watch or when you pay using Apple Pay. Your card number and identity aren’t shared with the merchant, and your actual card numbers aren’t stored on your device or on Apple servers.” Google Play According to Google’s website, “Google Pay uses a process called tokenization to save your card. Tokenization is a method of replacing your sensitive payment card information (Card Number, Expiration Date, CVV, etc.) with a device-specific ‘Token’ which acts as a surrogate value that is then used for processing payments instead of the sensitive card information. Tokens are used to protect your payment information and to reduce the security risks inherent to plastic cards.” Samsung Pay According to Samsung’s website, Samsung Pay goes out of its way to safeguard your privacy. It uses several special security methods, like tokenization, to secure your personal and financial information. On top of this, Samsung Knox constantly monitors and protects your phone from malware and other threats. In a nutshell, Samsung Pay is super secure.”If you’d like additional information or have any questions, reach out to your provider. What card information can the vendor access when I make a purchase using my mobile wallet? The card information supplied to the vendor will depend on the provider you are using (Apple, Samsung, or Google). We recommend accessing their website to find the specific information they share when making a purchase.
