InformationBodyTo ensure your account is as safe as possible, we require multi-factor authentication (MFA). Every time you sign in from a new or not-yet-trusted device, or perform a sensitive action in your profile, we’ll send a code to the mobile number registered on your account or send a push notification to your Bluevine mobile app. Set up After agreeing to the Bluevine terms and conditions during account setup, you’ll be asked to verify your mobile number. You should receive a code shortly after clicking Send. Enter this code on the following screen. If you’re using a secure primary device, you can check “Trust this device.” Checking this box allows you to sign in from this device without an MFA code. We’ll always require an MFA code when you sign in from a new device. MFA does not work with: Call forwarding services Wi-Fi-only calls (e.g. Google Voice) Certain carrier extensions Changing your MFA number This support article will provide steps to updating your MFA number. Completing MFA Verification Follow the steps below to verify your identity. Before You Begin Before starting MFA verification, make sure: You have access to the phone number registered on your Bluevine account. You have the Bluevine mobile app installed if using push notifications. Notifications are enabled on your mobile device for the Bluevine app. Choose a verification method When prompted, select how you’d like to receive your MFA verification request: Text code: Receive a verification code by text message. Push notification: Approve the login or dashboard action directly in the Bluevine mobile app. Text Code Verification Select Text Code and click Send. Wait for the verification code to be sent to your registered phone number. Enter the code in the verification field. Select Verify and continue.Tip: If you don’t receive the code right away, wait a few moments and check that your phone has cellular service enabled. Push notification verification Select Send notification to my Bluevine app and click Send. You will see the following screen with instructions. Open the notification sent to your mobile device. Then, sign in to the Bluevine app as prompted. Once signed in, review the access request details.To approve the request select Yes, it’s me. If you did not request this action select No, it’s not me. Next, you will see a confirmation screen. Return to your desktop or browser session and continue with your sign-in or account action. If You’re Having Trouble Completing MFA If you’re unable to complete MFA verification: Confirm your phone number on file is current. If you need to update the phone number for MFAs refer to this process, Change your verification number Make sure your device has internet or cellular connectivity. Check that the Bluevine mobile app is updated to the latest version. Try requesting a new verification code.
